Pet Adoption Event and The Wailers Live at Town Center Park
Come out for a pet adoption event at the Hamden Hidden Farmers Market and the third Hamden Free Summer Concert this Thursday and Friday!


Join us this week in Hamden for another great week of outdoor events – The Hamden Hidden Farmers Market will be open (weather permitting) Thursday, July 18th from 4-7:30pm in the Miller Library parking lot, in front of the Red Barn (2901 Dixwell Ave.). This week, the market will feature live music by Nicky D and a pet Adoption event by Where the Love Is Animal Rescue. WTLI will be bringing one or more furry friends currently up for adoption pictured below.The Market will also feature fresh produce by CT Farms: JC Farms, Schulze/Flowers from the Farm, Amelia’s Florist and Farm, and Bussa Orchards. If you aren't interested in adopting a pet that night, come out for food truck dinner on the Red Barn lawn - food trucks in attendance this Thursday are Mamoun's, Spuds, Holy Guacamole, DiSorbo's, Moon Rocks Cookies, and Sugar Bakery. You won't see the famous Sugar Bakery cupcakes truck at too many of our other large events this summer so if you need your Sugar cupcake fix, the best time to grab your Red Velvet, Snickerdoodle, S'mores, Triple Chocolate, Lemon Blueberry, Boston Creme, Black Bottom or Reese's Riot Sugar Bakery cupcake is at our Thursday Hidden Markets! On Friday, July 19th, join us for the third Hamden Free Summer Concert: The Wailers ft. Julian Junior Marvin. The band is led by original Wailer Julian Junior Marvin and boasts classic reggae hits such as "One Love" and "Three Little Birds". Celebrating 40 years of bringing reggae to all communities, The Wailers’ Julian Junior Marvin’s performance is an opportunity you don't want to miss to experience a sliver of musical history right here in our own hometown. The opening band for The Wailers will be Hamden’s very own feel-good folk band, Blue Trail at 7:30pm - The Wailers follow around 8:15pm. Check out www.HamdenArtsCommission.org for more info.
