Plea Made in Hamden Murder Case
The man was part of the Red Side Guerilla Brims, which law enforcement described as a ruthless gang responsible for a number of homicides.

NEW HAVEN, CT — City man Robert Short aka "Santana," 30, pleaded guilty to use of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence in federal court.
Police and ATF started targeting the Red Side Guerilla Brims in 2014 to reduce narcotics trafficking and violence, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.
RSGB transported drugs to Bangor, MAine and sold them in the surrounding communities, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.

Short was ordered to murder Darrick Cooper, a rival gang member in September 2011. Short shot Cooper in the back of the head in Hamden.
Short faces 30 years in prison as part of a plea agreement if it's accepted by a judge.

“The Red Side Guerilla Brims were a violent and ruthless gang that created a climate of terror throughout neighborhoods in New Haven in 2011 and 2012,” said U.S. Attorney Deidre Daly. "Twenty-one gang members and associates will now be held responsible for seven cold case homicides, four attempted homicides, four armed robberies as well as drug and gun running from Connecticut to Bangor, Maine."
