Police Identify Man Shot to Death at Traffic Light in Hamden
A 25-year-old man was shot to death while stopped at a traffic light early Saturday morning in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police have identified the man shot and killed while at a stoplight early Saturday morning as Jonathan Cooper, 25, of Brooklyn, New York.
The fatal shooting took place while Cooper was stopped at a red traffic light on Dixwell Avenue on April 23, according to police.
Detectives from the Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Division are continuing the investigation.
Officers responded to the scene around 1:30 a.m. on the report of a shooting victim and found an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police said the shooting took place at the intersection of Arch Street and Dixwell Avenue while the victim had stopped at a red traffic light. The gunshots were fired from a dark colored SUV that pulled up alongside the victim's vehicle.
