Police Warn Of Water Authority Imposters In Hamden

The imposters are displaying a fake badge and asking to come into your home to check your water, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden Police Department is warning residents of people recently posing as Regional Water Authority inspectors in parts of town.

“The Hamden Police Department has become aware of people in the area of Gorham Avenue, that are displaying a fake badge and posing as Regional Water Authority Inspectors,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “They are asking to come into your home to check your water. The Regional Water Authority has NOT sent anyone out to check or test water. If anyone encounters this, please contact the Hamden Police Department immediately!”
