HAMDEN - Pulitzer Winning Poet Vijay Seshadri will read from his book, “That Was Now, This Is Then,” from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, at the Carl Hansen Student Center, Room 120, at Quinnipiac University. This program is free and open to the public, but registration is required. All attendees are required to wear a mask.

“Seshadri is not only one of the most distinctive and compelling voices in contemporary American poetry, he is also a world-class poet,” said Filippo Naitana, associate professor of modern languages. “I’m thrilled at the opportunity for Quinnipiac students, faculty and the wider community to experience his riveting talent and the depth of his insight into the human condition.”

Seshadri was born in Bangalore, India and moved to the United States at age five. He is the author of the poetry books, “Wild Kingdom,” “The Long Meadow,” “The Disappearances,” “3 Sections” and “That Was Now, This Is Then,” as well as many essays, reviews and memoir fragments.
His work has been widely published, anthologized and recognized with many honors, most notably the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry and, in 2015, the Literature Award of the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
