Quinnipiac Appoints Director of Medical Student Home Program

Dr. Traci Marquis-Eydman will oversee the program that matches medical students with Connecticut-based primary care physicians.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Dr. Traci Marquis-Eydman, of Clinton, has been appointed director of the Medical Student Home (MESH) Program and associate professor of clinical arts and sciences at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University.

In her new role, Marquis-Eydman will oversee the program that matches medical students with Connecticut-based primary care physicians, who serve as the students’ preceptors.

Students spend one afternoon each week in their preceptors’ practices, working with the physicians and their patients and staffs. That relationship continues throughout the students’ time in medical school. Currently, there are 90 physicians in the MESH program.

In addition, she will teach courses in the medical school, serve on the admissions committee and advise first and second-year students.

“Traci’s clinical experience over her years in private practice provides her with the insight and connections to identify high quality physicians in the community who can serve as preceptors and mentors for the school’s longitudinal ambulatory experience in the first two years of the curriculum,” said Dr. Bruce Koeppen, dean of the medical school.

She earned her medical degree at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. She completed her family medicine residency at Deaconess Hospital/St. Louis University in St. Louis.
