Quinnipiac Speaker Series With U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal

HAMDEN, CT – U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal will be the first guest in a spring speaker series presented by Quinnipiac University’s People’s United Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

Blumenthal will offer his perspective on the role of entrepreneurship and innovation in Connecticut at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3. The virtual program, co-sponsored by the People’s United Center for Women & Business, is free and open to the public and will include an interactive discussion.

“I’m so excited to have outstanding leaders coming to Quinnipiac this spring to participate in our speaker series,” said Fred McKinney, the Carlton Highsmith Chair for Innovation & Entrepreneurship and director of the People’s United Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship. “These diverse political, business, educational and nonprofit leaders will provide unique perspectives and should spur greater innovation and entrepreneurship on campus.”

Blumenthal is serving his second term as a senator from Connecticut. He served an unprecedented five terms as Connecticut’s attorney general, fighting for people against large and powerful special interests. His aggressive law enforcement for consumer protection, environmental stewardship, labor rights and personal privacy has helped reshape the role of state attorneys general nationwide and resulted in the recovery of hundreds of millions of dollars for Connecticut taxpayers and consumers each year.

The People’s United Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship strives to support the determination and goals of students and entrepreneurs at Quinnipiac. The 2021 speaker series will run from March 3 to April 15, with a total of seven events.
