Quinnipiac Student Had Cocaine, Marijuana, Hash in Dorm Room: Police
Hamden Police charged the student with selling drugs and seized 1.3 pounds of marijuana and $9,500 in the drug bust.

Hamden Police charged a Quinnipiac student with allegedly selling drugs after cocaine, marijuana, hashish and more than $9,500 was seized from his dorm room.
Police responded to Quinnipiac University Tuesday on a report of a drug investigation.
Capt. Ronald Smith said investigation revealed that Quinnipiac University Public Safety ascertained that a large quantity of marijuana was located inside of the dormitory room of student Kyle Shapiro.

Investigator Bryan Kelly of the Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team assumed the investigation.
Officers subsequently conducted a search of Shapiro’s room.

Several items were seized including, 1.367 pounds of marijuana, .8 grams of cocaine, 8 vials of hashish and $9,518 cash. Shapiro was promptly arrested and transported to police headquarters.
Shapiro, 21, of 57 Totten Drive in New Jersey, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Shapiro, who was released after posting a $50,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Dec. 14.
