Quinnipiac U to Host Ann Heppermann Appearance
Quinnipiac University will host independent radio/documentary producer and educator Ann Heppermann on March 19, 2020.

HAMDEN, CT – Independent radio/documentary producer and educator Ann Heppermann will discuss her work at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, in the Carl Hansen Student Center, Room 120, on the Mount Carmel Campus.
The event is part of the creative writing program's "Yawp!" series, an open dialogue on creativity and the arts started in 2012 that features visiting writers. Admission is free and open to the public.
Heppermann is a Brooklyn-based, independent radio/multimedia documentary producer and educator. Her stories air on National Public Radio, the BBC and numerous shows, including “This American Life,” “Marketplace,” “Radio Lab,” “Morning Edition” and “Studio 360.” She also teaches radio writing and radio drama at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, N.Y.
A Peabody Award-winning producer, Heppermann also has received Associated Press, Edward R. Murrow and Third Coast International Audio Festival awards. Her work has been funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Association of Independents, Arizona Humanities Council and the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard.

Heppermann is a Rosalynn Carter for Mental Health Journalism Fellow and will be making a multimedia documentary about preteen anorexia in partnership with Ms. Magazine and NPR.
