Quinnipiac University Appoints Assistant Professor Of Health Care Management And Organizational Leadership

From Quinnipiac University: Ae-Sook Kim, Ph.D., of Cheshire, has been appointed assistant professor of health care management and organizational leadership at Quinnipiac University.

In her new position, Kim is responsible for teaching graduate courses in health care management, quality management in health care facilities, health care finance and human resources management.

“The School of Business is delighted to have Dr. Ae-Sook Kim join the department of Health Care Management & Organizational Leadership,” said Matthew L. O’Connor, dean of the School of Business. “Professor Kim brings a rare combination of professional experience, scholarship and teaching excellence to the department and the business school. She is an outstanding addition to the department and the health care management track in our MBA program.”

Kim has a doctorate in public administration and public policy from the Martin School at the University of Kentucky. She also holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in public administration from the University of Seoul in South Korea. Her research interests include health and social policy and health services, focusing on health care quality issues. She explores nursing home quality variations across facilities and regions, paying particularly close attention to the roles of nursing home administrators, publicly available quality data and market conditions. She also studies social welfare systems in three dimensions — public expenditures, tax structures and welfare program rules — nationally and examines the impact on each state’s well-being and mortality rates.

She also is a member of the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management and the American Society for Public Administration.
