Press release

HAMDEN, Conn. – Nick Wormley of Fairfield has been appointed vice president for development and alumni affairs at Quinnipiac University, according to an announcement by President Judy Olian.

In his new role, Wormley will serve on President Olian’s Management Council and have leadership responsibility for all fundraising and development across the university, as well as oversight of alumni affairs.

“Nick has deep roots here at Quinnipiac as both an undergraduate and graduate alumnus, and as a former student-athlete on our men’s tennis team,” Olian said. “Nick is a true Bobcat for life who met his wife, Michelle, also a Division I tennis player, during his time at QU. This history and the many connections with our university communities will be invaluable to Nick and to Quinnipiac.”

Wormley, who began his higher education career at Quinnipiac in 2006, has extensive experience in development and alumni affairs. He also worked at Sacred Heart and Fairfield universities, where he focused on athletic development, endowment growth and capital project fundraising — all in senior management roles. He returned to Quinnipiac in 2022 as associate vice president for development and alumni affairs before being named interim vice president in October 2023. Wormley has a bachelor’s degree in economics and an MBA from Quinnipiac.

"I am honored to accept the position of vice president of development and alumni affairs at Quinnipiac,” Wormley said. “As we embark on this journey together, I am eager to lead initiatives that foster meaningful connections, drive philanthropic support, and strengthen our ties with the vibrant community of alumni, parents, friends of the university and corporate supporters. Together, we will strengthen the legacy of excellence for which Quinnipiac is known and enable the expansive vision for the future of our institution and the students we serve."
