Quinnipiac University Community Participates in Big Event
The Quinnipiac University community participated in the 15th annual Big Event

HAMDEN, Conn. - Nearly 800 members of the Quinnipiac University community recently took part in the 15th annual Big Event.
The Big Event is a day of community service that connects Quinnipiac students, faculty, staff and alumni with community partners in the Greater New Haven area and beyond.
During this year’s Big Event, Quinnipiac students, faculty, staff and alumni formed teams and spruced up sites in Bethany, Branford, Cheshire, Hamden, Meriden, Milford, New Haven, North Haven, Plantsville, Southington and Wallingford.
Participants volunteered at specific locations, including the Russell Homestead in Bethany, the Keefe Community Garden in Hamden, Common Ground (New Haven Ecology Project) in New Haven, Youth Continuum of North Haven and YMCA Camp Sloper in Southington.
The Big Event is a nationwide day of service when colleges and universities send teams to volunteer in the surrounding community. The Big Event originated at Texas A&M University in 1982.
