Quinnipiac University Experts to discuss COVID-19 Vaccines
Experts to discuss 'COVID-19 Vaccines: Empowering our Communities and Informing your Decisions' at Quinnipiac University webinar

HAMDEN, CT - A diverse group of faculty experts from Quinnipiac University will lead the panel discussion, “COVID-19 Vaccines: Empowering our Communities and Informing your Decisions,” at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17. The virtual event, co-sponsored by Quinnipiac and the town of Hamden, is free and open to the public.
Janelle Chiasera, dean of the School of Health Sciences, will moderate the discussion.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to engage with our community for a robust discussion around a topic as important as COVID-19 vaccines,” Chiasera said. “We hope that this serves as a venue for the community to get their questions answered by a panel of experts and to clear any misunderstandings or concerns around COVID-19 vaccines with the intent for people to be informed and empowered to make decisions.”
The community conversation will cover such topics as:
· COVID-19 vaccines compared to the flu vaccine
· Who should get the COVID-19 vaccine
· COVID-19 vaccine safety and side effects
· COVID-19 vaccine administration and logistics
· COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness and herd immunity
The panel will include Lisa Cuchara, professor of biomedical sciences; Maya Doyle, professor of social work; William Dunlap, professor of law; David Hill, professor of medical sciences, director of global public health and senior medical adviser for COVID-19; Jeffrey Mital, associate professor of biomedical sciences; and Mario Norbis, professor of management.
