Quinnipiac University Management Professor To Receive Edgar C. Hayhow Award

The award will be presented during the American College of Healthcare Executives' 60th Congress of Healthcare Leadership in Chicago.

HAMDEN, CT — Nitish Patidar of Glastonbury, an assistant professor of management in the School of Business at Quinnipiac University, was selected to receive the Edgar C. Hayhow Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives, university officials announced on Thursday.

The award will be presented to Patidar during ACHE’s 60th Congress of Healthcare Leadership in Chicago, March 27-30.

This award is presented each year to the authors of the best Journal of Healthcare Management article. Patidar’s award-winning article, “Succession Planning and Financial Performance: Does Competition Matter?” analyzed the impact of succession planning programs on their financial performances of hospitals.

“I am honored to receive this award from the American College of Healthcare Executives at the national meeting of the healthcare congress in Chicago,” Patidar said in a news release. “This award means a lot to me. Being recognized by such a prestigious organization shows my research is making an impact in the industry.”

Patidar, who joined the Quinnipiac faculty in 2014, has a doctorate in health services administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also has a bachelor’s of medicine from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya University of Madhya Pradesh, India, and a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Kentucky.
