Quinnipiac University Opens New Freestanding Bookstore

HAMDEN, CT — Quinnipiac University’s newly opened, freestanding bookstore is earning rave reviews from students, faculty and staff and raising the bar with a modern retail experience that celebrates Bobcat pride.

Located just inside the main entrance to the Mount Carmel Campus in the former Faculty Office Building, the completely renovated and reimagined 15,000-square-foot bookstore officially opened on January 20, the first day of the Spring 2026 semester.

The spacious new location features two levels of shopping and a light, open design that showcases an expansive selection of Quinnipiac apparel, game wear, merchandise, and spirit gear.

The airy main floor welcomes visitors with abundant natural light and sweeping sightlines across the store, including views through a glass-walled central staircase that connects to the lower level. From nearly every vantage point, customers can see thoughtfully arranged merchandise that emphasizes school spirit and style.

“This is really cool. This is really fun,” said Emily Spada, a student at QU. “It definitely feels like a brand-new kind of vibe, and they have so much fun stuff. There’s a lot of things in here that I want to buy.”

Beyond Quinnipiac-branded apparel, the bookstore offers a wide mix of toys, jewelry, greeting cards, games, plush items, trendy accessories, gifts, school supplies, dorm essentials, electronics and more. Students say the variety and layout make the space easy and enjoyable to explore.

The lower level features a dedicated, well-organized textbook area designed to streamline the buying process.

Campus Store Manager Brittany Calabro said customer response has been overwhelmingly positive.

“They love the space and how everything’s connected,” she said. “They’re saying it’s more open and easier to shop.”

The new bookstore includes its own customer elevator and restroom, with a fitting room set to open soon.

With its modern design, expanded offerings, and focus on student experience, Quinnipiac’s new bookstore is quickly becoming a destination that blends convenience, community and Bobcat pride.

The store is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
