Quinnipiac University To Shut Down Radio Station
Quinnipiac announced this week that it will be closing its community radio station.

HAMDEN, CT — Citing a changing media environment, particularly in AM radio, Quinnipiac University announced this week that it will close its community radio station, WQUN-AM (1220), according to the New Haven Register.
The Register reports the station, which features former WPLR regulars Pam Landry and Brian Smith, will stop broadcasting on May 31 and will cease operations on June 30 to shift resources that officials said “to more closely match the ever-changing needs and interests of our students, and to better prepare them for future employment opportunities.”
The building and property on Whitney Avenue in Hamden will be retained and re-purposed as part of the strategic planning process, according to the Register.
