He was a dedicated runner who completed marathons, a lifelong hockey player nicknamed “Chopper,” an avid golfer at New Haven Country Club, and a waterskier and sailor who spent summers at his family’s cottage in Madison.
Louise E. Elengo, 77, died Jan. 22, 2025; a dedicated healthcare worker at St. Raphael’s Hospital for 26 years, a certified nurse assistant, a passionate reader, a devoted baseball fan, an avid traveler to Boston, and a lifelong admirer of "I Love Lucy."

Dennis P. Regan, 101, a U.S. Navy veteran who served in WWII with PT Boat Squadron 28, passed away Jan. 19, 2025. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and the State of Connecticut, spending his later years with family and pursuing his passion for golf.
Charles W. Rainer, 93, died Jan. 12, 2025; a former maintenance supervisor at SNET, enjoyed vacations with his grandchildren, especially in Cape Cod, and was predeceased by a stepson and two grandchildren.

Albert William Mattei, 74, passed away Jan. 11, 2025. He was a dedicated grocery store manager for Stop and Shop and A&P, a lifelong New York Yankees fan who enjoyed 1960s Motown music and spending time with family.
Quinta C. Platino Raccio, 107, passed away on Jan. 16, 2025. She was a former treasurer for the Women's Auxiliary at the Washington PM Club, spent her life in Hamden and enjoyed time with her family.
Sharon B. Krischtschun, 82, a lifelong Hamden resident, passed away on Jan. 16, 2025. She was a retired Yale University executive assistant, and former co-owner of Hans & Fritz Deli. She lovingly cared for family members, helped others, and looked after stray and feral cats.
Gilbert J. Spencer, 89, a retired Hamden Fire Department Commander, passed away on Jan. 16, 2025. He was a dedicated historian of the Sleeping Giant Park Association, and active member of numerous conservation and community organizations.
William Frazier, 93, a retired electrical engineer who dedicated 40 years to United Illuminating and a U.S. Army veteran, passed away on Jan. 16, 2025, leaving behind a passion for golfing, skiing, boating, traveling, and volunteering for youth hockey and little league programs.
Amritlal T. Shah, 81, a former chemist, wealth advisor, and pioneering entrepreneur who founded Connecticut’s first Indian grocery store and operated a motel until his retirement in 2024, passed away on Jan. 14, 2025, leaving behind a deep commitment to community service and cultural advocacy.
Anthony “Tony” Coco, 86, a dedicated microbiologist who spent 36 years as supervisor of the Microbiology Department at St. Raphael’s Hospital before retiring in 2004 and later working at Milford Hospital, died on Jan. 8, 2025.
