One Person Dies, Two Injured in I-91 South Accident (Updated)

The accident occurred near Exit 10 Sunday night.

Update:

The victim of Sunday night’s accident on I-91 South near Exit 10 has been identified as Alma Valentin, 57, of West Haven, according to the Hartford Courant.

NBC Connecticut reports that Valentin lost control of her car and veered across three lanes of traffic from the left lane into a curb on the right side and the impact propelled the car into the “wood line.”

Valentin died from her injuries while two others were hospitalized with minor injuries. Flora Rivera, 68, of New Haven, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital and Miguel Rodriguez-Gonzalez, 8, was transported to Yale Children’s Hospital, according to NBC. State police said that Rodriguez-Gonzalez was not wearing a seatbelt.

One person died in a car crash Sunday night in North Haven, according to multiple reports.

The accident occurred near Exit 10 on I-91 South around 9:45 p.m. and lanes were closed for about an hour.

The Hartford Courant is reporting that a vehicle overturned into the woods, with three people pinned.
