Resident Recognized For Actions Taken During Structure Fire: Hamden Fire Officials
The resident was recently honored by the Hamden Fire Commission.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden resident has been honored by the Hamden Fire Commission for her actions during a recent structure fire. Lauran Scarlett was presented with a certificate of recognition at the fire commission’s meeting on June 14.
After dialing 911 to report a fire on Townhouse Road, Scarlett proceeded to record the fire’s progression prior to arrival of Hamden firefighters. (To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
“The video account captures the fire from its stages of early development to its extension to other areas of the building and to eventual extinguishment,” officials said in a press release. “The video was of great importance to our Fire Marshal’s investigation and also aided in improving fire ground operations and enhancement of firefighter safety.”

Commissioner Henry Candido commended Scarlett for her outstanding community service and assistance to the Hamden Fire Department.
