Road Closure Announced In Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police have announced that Skiff Street will only have eastbound running traffic effective immediately. At 9 p.m., Skiff Street will be completely closed in both directions until further notice, police said. Police are advising motorists to plan accordingly.

"This closure was based on the recommendation of the bridge project engineers and oversight consultants, due to potential structural deficiencies that could make the bridge on unsafe," town officials said in a post on Facebook. "This will allow professionals to be able to evaluate the structure safely, and will make recommendations for how to address any concerns while the new bridge is being built."
