Robber Punches Man, 65, In Head, Steals Wallet: Hamden Police

Police are looking for a suspect they say punched a 65-year-old man in the head while he was sitting in a car and then stole his wallet.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police are looking for a suspect who punched a 65-year-old man in the head while he sat in his car and stole his wallet. Police say the robbery occurred on May 22 in the 300 block of Goodrich Street in Hamden.

The victim, a 65-year-old West Haven resident, was sitting inside of his parked car when the suspect opened the door and punched the victim in the head, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s wallet and fled on foot, eastbound on Goodrich Street, Smith said. The victim sustained an injury to his finger.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s with a shaved head and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt. Police have released photos of the suspect that were captured from a nearby camera system.
