Search Continues For Two Carjacking Suspects: Hamden Police

Two men fled after stealing the vehicle of a 74-year-old Shop Rite employee, whose car was stolen as he in the parking lot before work.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police are searching for two suspects who were involved in a carjacking at a local Shop Rite early Tuesday. According to police, a 74-year-old store employee was sitting in his car at 6 a.m. and was preparing to report for work when his vehicle was approached by another man. The man, described as being a black male wearing a black scull cap, mask and red shirt, ordered the store employee out of his car. Police say a second male then entered the car and the pair was last observed traveling southbound on Dixwell Ave.

New Haven Police alerted Hamden Police shortly after that the stolen vehicle had crashed in the area of Roydon Road and Goffe Terrace. The occupants of the vehicle then fled on foot.
