Shot Fired During Home Invasion on Pine Rock Avenue in Hamden Wednesday Night
The resident's dog attacked one of the suspects during a physical altercation and the suspects subsequently fled on foot.

Hamden police are investigating a home invasion that took place Wednesday night on Pine Rock Avenue in which a shot was fired following a physical altercation and the resident’s dog attacked the suspects, who subsequently fled on foot, according to police.
Police responded to the Pine Rock Avenue residence at about 9:15 p.m. on Oct. 22 on the report of a home invasion, according to a press release.
Investigation revealed that as the residents arrived home, they were followed inside by two individuals, according to police.

Police said the two individuals entered the residence through an unlocked front door. Once inside, they demanded money, at which time a physical altercation ensued.
During the struggle, one of the residents was struck in the head with a firearm. In addition, one of the individuals fired a gunshot, according to police.

Police said the resident’s canine attacked the subjects after the gun was fired. They subsequently fled on foot.
One of the residents suffered a head injury, including lacerations to the face, according to police.
The individuals are described as follows:
Subject #1 – black male, 20-25 years of age, 6’ to 6’2”, thin build, wearing dark clothing and a white-colored Halloween mask. He was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
Subject #2 – black male, 20 to 25 years of age, 5’9”, thin build, wearing dark clothing and a mask. He was also armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
