Shots Fired, Arch Street At Dixwell Avenue In Hamden

On 08/18/21 at approximately 3:10 PM, Hamden Police responded to the area of Arch Street and Dixwell Avenue on the report of shots fired.

The investigation revealed that a vehicle was stopped for the traffic signal on Arch Street at the intersection of Dixwell Avenue. A suspect vehicle, described as a white BMW SUV, also stopped at the same intersection. A passenger exited the suspect vehicle and fired several shots in the direction of the first vehicle. There were no reported injuries or vehicles struck by the gunfire. The suspect was described as a black male, 20-25 years old, approximately 6’ tall, medium build with short “braids”. The suspect vehicle was last seen travelling northbound on Dixwell Avenue.

Detectives recovered several shell casings at the scene.
