Skunk Sneaks Into Bed With Teen: Hamden Police

A 13-year-old was awakened by a most unpleasant discovery…

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden teen received a most unpleasant wake-up call when a skunk snuck into his bed. The 13-year-old made the shocking discovery when he was awakened by a skunk in his bed during the early morning hours on July 25. The Hamden Animal Control responded to a West Easton Street address at about 6 a.m. regarding an animal nuisance complaint, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Animal Control Officer Chris Smith arrived to the pungent smell of skunk, which emanated throughout the house, according to Capt. Smith. (To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

ACO Chris Smith learned that family members were able to remove the skunk from the house.

“It appears that a resident brought a trash can into the home from outside,” Capt. Smith said in a press release. “The trash can, which had a hole in it, contained the skunk.”
