Sleeping Giant Park Reaches Capacity

HAMDEN, CT — Sleeping Giant State Park is closed to new visitors Saturday after its parking lot reached capacity before 11 a.m.

Gov. Ned Lamont signed an executive order that gives park officials the power to close parks to additional visitors in an effort to promote effective social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic.

The state has 139 parks and forests.
