Stop & Shop Unveils Hamden Store at Grand Reopening Celebration

Store Features Include a New Look, Remodeled Produce, Bakery, and Seafood Departments, Grab-and-Go Deli Solutions, and Convenient Meal Solutions Including Fresh Store-Made Sushi and Flatbread Pizza

Stop & Shop, a neighborhood grocer for more than 100 years, unveiled its newly remodeled store in Hamden, Connecticut, located at 2335 Dixwell Avenue on Friday, October 21. The updates are centered around delivering fresh, healthy, and convenient options that make grocery shopping easier for local customers.

The new features at the Hamden store include an updated produce department with expanded local and organic offerings, new bakery department with a wide variety of cakes and sweets to make every occasion special, convenient additions to the deli department with a hot prepared foods bar, and more grab-and-go meal solutions including fresh sushi and delicious varieties of flatbread pizza.

“We look forward to offering the Hamden community an enhanced shopping experience with more variety,” shares Bryant Majors, Store Manager of the Hamden Stop & Shop. “We hope that our new assortment of easy meal solutions like our flatbread pizza and store-made sushi, expanded natural and organic sections, along with our convenient Pickup service, will help local families as they prepare for all of their fall and winter celebrations.”

Stop & Shop is committed to supporting the community, and as part of the store’s Grand Reopening Celebration, the store gifted Hamden’s Keefe Community Center with a $1000 donation. The Keefe Center is committed to providing food security assistance to local residents in need. This donation will allow the Keefe Center to stock its community food pantry with food and other essentials.

Stop & Shop’s trained and trusted pharmacists are also here to make this easier for the Hamden community. Customers can easily stop by the pharmacy in store to receive their annual flu shot, get a COVID-19 booster at no out-of-pocket cost, and receive guidance on health concerns such as blood pressure and diabetes. COVID and flu shots are available to both walk-in patients, as well as patients who schedule their vaccine appointment ahead of time at www.stopandshop.com/pharmacy.

The Hamden store continues to offer Same Day Pickup, providing local customers with a faster and more convenient way to shop, with pickup available in as little as two hours. Customers can place an order on the Stop & Shop® mobile app, or visit www.stopandshop.com, click on “Order Online” and select “Pickup” at the Hamden store. Customers can then head to the store, park in one of the designated Pickup spots, and have a Stop & Shop associate load their groceries right into their car.
