Student Sues Quinnipiac, Fraternity Over Alleged Sexual Assault

A former Quinnipiac University student is suing the school and a fraternity, claiming she was sexually assaulted by at least three men.

HAMDEN, CT — A former Quinnipiac University student is suing the school and the Alpha Sigma Phi organization, claiming that she was sexually assaulted by at least three men at a fraternity party at a university owned house on New Road in Hamden in 2017, according to the Hartford Courant.

The Courant reports the student, who filed the lawsuit in November, has taken the unusual step of filing a motion to keep the names of her accused attackers secret.

The judge has scheduled a hearing for Feb. 3 on an objection by the fraternity’s attorneys to keep the names secret, according to the Courant. Hamden Police are still investigating a criminal complaint that was made regarding the incident.
