Suspected Drug Dealer Arrested After Brief Pursuit: Hamden Police
Police say the man was found to be in the possession of 38 bags of crack cocaine and some marijuana.

Hamden, CT — A suspected drug dealer was arrested after engaging officers in a brief pursuit and was found to be in the possession of 38 bags of crack cocaine, according to Hamden Police.
The Hamden Police Department’s Street Interdiction Team concluded a drug investigation on July 6 with the arrest of Tyler Mckay, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said officers observed Mckay participating in a drug transaction in the area of Merritt Street and Webb Street. He then entered a motor vehicle and engaged officers in a brief pursuit.

Shortly thereafter, officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested Mckay, who was found to be in the possession of 38 bags of crack cocaine and a small quantity of marijuana, according to Smith.
Mckay, 25, of 220 Garfield Street in Bridgeport, was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with the intent to sell, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, engaging an officer in pursuit and interfering with a police officer.

Mckay, who was detained on a $100,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on July 20.
