Suspected Drug Dealer Found with 64 Bags of Crack Cocaine: Hamden Police

Police say a drug investigation culminated with the man's arrest.

HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man is accused of selling drugs in Hamden after police say he was found with 64 bags of crack cocaine on State Street Wednesday evening.

At about 5 p.m. on Oct. 12, members of the Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team concluded a drug investigation with the arrest of Willie Rogers, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said Rogers, who was arrested in 1700 block of State Street, was in the possession of 64 bags of crack cocaine. The cocaine weighed 14.6 grams, Smith said.

Rogers, 46, of Hallock Street in New Haven, was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with the intent to sell. He was detained on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Oct. 28.
