Suspended Students Arrested, Found With Knives: Hamden Police

Two students, who were suspended after having a dispute with another student, returned to the school and were arrested, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — Two suspended students were arrested after police said they returned to the Aces school in Hamden and were in the possession of knives.

Police responded to Aces at 130 Leeder Hill Road on Thursday on the report of two students with knives, according to Capt. Anthony Diaz.

Diaz said an investigation found that the two students had a dispute with another student earlier in the day and were suspended and asked not to return to the school.

“The two students returned to the school and one of them pulled the fire alarm,” Diaz wrote in a news release. “The two students were detained by Security and staff members until police arrived. Further investigation revealed that the students were in possession of knives. There were no reported injuries.”

The 16-year-old juveniles, both New Haven residents, were each charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, trespassing and carrying a dangerous weapon.

One of the juveniles was additionally charged with pulling the fire alarm, according to Diaz.

Diaz said both juveniles were released to the custody of their parents and are scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven on April 2.
