Teacher In Hamden Accused Of Misconduct, Fired: Reports

Police are investigating allegations of misconduct between a charter school teacher and a group of students, according to reports.

HAMDEN, CT — A middle school teacher at Booker T. Washington Academy in Hamden was fired this week amid allegations of misconduct, according to multiple reports.

The New Haven Register reported Hamden police are investigating a complaint submitted by the school regarding “inappropriate messages” between a teacher and a group of students. Booker T. Washington Academy is a charter school with facilities in New Haven and Hamden.

A parent notified school officials of an inappropriate text conversation between the teacher and her son, according to WTNH News 8.

WTNH reported the teacher was terminated within 36 hours of school officials learning of the allegations.
