Teen, 15, Charged In Vandalism Of Vehicles: Hamden Police

Police responded to a report of "suspicious activity," according to officials.

HAMDEN, CT — A 15-year-old Hamden resident was recently arrested in connection with the vandalism of two vehicles in a parking lot, according to police.

Police responded to the area of Town House Road around 7:40 p.m. on Nov. 22 on the report of “suspicious activity,” according to Sgt. Angela Vey.

Vey said the caller reported seeing three unknown males in the parking lot, looking into vehicles. The caller said that when police arrived, they all ran toward the woods to the rear of the complex, according to Vey.

Two vehicles were later found vandalized in the parking lot, Vey said.

Vey said Officer Christina Giori was checking the area, and found a 15-year-old boy matching the description given by the caller. The other two males weren’t found, according to Vey.

The 15-year-old juvenile from Hamden was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree burglary, attempted second-degree larceny and criminal trover.

The juvenile is scheduled to appear in New Haven Superior Court for Juvenile Matters on Nov. 28, according to Vey.
