Teen, 16, Caused $5K Worth Of Damage To School Fields: Hamden PD
Police said the 16-year-old driver caused more than $5,000 worth of damage by "performing donuts" on the school's fields.
HAMDEN, CT — A 16-year-old Hamden resident was arrested after police say he caused more than $5,000 worth of damage to two soccer fields at West Woods School on the Fourth of July.
The two soccer fields at West Woods School, 350 West Todd St., sustained “extensive damage” during an incident on July 4, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Officer Stephen DeGrand determined that a vehicle, driven by a 16-year-old Hamden resident, was “performing donuts” on the fields, according to Smith.

The Public Works Department estimated that the damage was more than $5,000, according to Smith.
The teen was arrested July 14 and charged with first-degree criminal mischief. He is scheduled to appear in New Haven Juvenile Court at a later date, according to Smith.
