Teen, 17, Stole 2 Vehicles In Same Day: Hamden Police

The teen "drove erratically on the sidewalks" and was speeding through a school parking lot in one of the stolen vehicles, police said.

HAMDEN, CT — A 17-year-old Hamden resident has been arrested in connection with the theft of two stolen vehicles in the same day, according to police.

Hamden police responded to the area of Cherry Ann Street around 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, on the report of a suspicious motor vehicle. The caller told police that there was a white Hyundai parked with a man asleep in the driver’s seat, according to Sgt. Angela Vey.

Vey said Officer Jinett Marte arrived at the scene, and Hamden Dispatch advised that the license plate came back to a stolen vehicle out of North Haven. Marte saw that the ignition to the vehicle was damaged, and there was a USB cable attached to it, according to Vey.
