Stolen BMW Recovered, Teens Charged: Hamden Police

An 18-year-old, two 16-year-olds and a 14-year-old were all found in the stolen vehicle and arrested, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — An 18-year-old from Hamden and three juveniles have been charged with stealing a 2016 BMW out of Glastonbury, according to police.

At about 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 7, Hamden Police responded to the area of Saint Mary Street and Dudley Street on the report of a recovered stolen motor vehicle. The 2016 BMW had been reported stolen earlier in Glastonbury, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said that arriving officers located four individuals seated inside of the stolen vehicle and they were promptly arrested.

John Pope, 18, of First Street in Hamden, was charged with first-degree larceny. He was detained on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Jan. 20.

The other three suspects are juveniles and their names aren’t being released, according to police.

Two of the juveniles are 16 years old and the other is a 14-year-old. They were all charged with first-degree larceny and are scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven on Jan. 18.
