HAMDEN, CT — Officials have announced a temporary change to evening hours at Miller Memorial Library on Mondays due to “unforeseen staffing shortages.”

The Miller Memorial Library will close at 5 p.m. every Monday evening beginning Oct. 26, according to officials.

The Digital Branch is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing access to online resources and services whenever the library's physical locations are closed, according to officials.

“The Library is working to increase staffing capacity by recruiting for and training staff in budgeted positions,” officials wrote. “During this temporary reduction of hours, staffing levels and services will be evaluated. If needed, hours will be adjusted accordingly. Once staffing levels allow the Library to responsibly and safely offer Monday evening hours, these three hours will be restored.

“The community's understanding and support as the Library works to provide the best possible library service with the resources currently available is appreciated.”
