Three Hamden Teens Charged with Assaulting, Robbing 16-Year-Old
The attack took place Saturday night on Woodin Street.

Hamden police have arrested three town teenagers accused of assaulting and robbing a 16-year-old on Woodin Street Saturday night.
Police responded to the area of Dixwell Avenue and Arch Street at about 7:45 p.m. Nov. 29 on the report of a street robbery.
Investigation revealed that a 16-year-old Hamden resident was walking on Woodin Street, when he was struck in the head from behind and knocked to the ground, Hamden Police Capt. Ronald Smith said in a press release.

One of the three individuals responsible for the attack, detained the victim, while another individual stole his cell phone and $2 from his pockets, according to Smith.
Shortly thereafter, with the assistance of the victim’s father, officers located the three suspects exiting a restaurant located at Dixwell Avenue and Morse Street. One of the individuals was in the possession of a black-colored bb gun, according to Smith. Officers recovered the victim’s cell phone.

Police arrested three Hamden juveniles, two of whom are 16 years old and the third is 15 years old. They were all charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree assault, second-degree larceny, and breach of peace. One of the 16 year olds was also charged with illegal use of a facsimile firearm. The juveniles are scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven on Dec. 12.
