Tractor-Trailer Strikes Hydrant, Causes Flooding In Hamden
The crash caused a water main break and local flooding, fire officials say: BREAKING

HAMDEN, CT — A tractor-trailer struck a fire hydrant, causing a water main break and local street flooding in front of Whitney Towers apartments on 2405 Whitney Avenue, according to fire officials.
The Regional Water Authority is at the scene to start repairs, which officials say will take hours. Water service in the area may be temporarily interrupted and or discolored during the process, according to the fire department.
Officials are advising motorists to use caution in the area.

We shut down the water main between School Street and Colonial Drive in order to make repairs. This will affect 12 customers between 2404 and 2447 Whitney Avenue.
