Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Bust In Hamden: Police

A passenger was arrested after he was found to be in the possession of illegal drugs during a traffic stop, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A traffic stop led to the arrest of a passenger on drug charges late Friday night in Hamden, according to police.

An officer conducted the stop around 11:45 p.m. on May 5 after seeing the driver commit several motor vehicle violations near the back of the Hamden Plaza, according to police.

During the stop, police said the front seat passenger was found to be in the possession of illegal drugs and packaging material.

Police said 34 bags of marijuana, weighing 5.07 ounces, and eight bags of mushrooms weighing 2.74 ounces were seized.

The passenger, 28-year-old Jerome Houser of New Haven, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of hallucinogens with intent to sell.
