Victim Hospitalized After Shooting, Vehicle Stolen: Hamden Police

The victim's vehicle was stolen from the scene, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A man was hospitalized after a shooting late Tuesday night in Hamden, according to police.

Police responded to Oberlin Road around 11:10 p.m. on July 4 on the report of shots fired.

A 31-year-old man was found suffering from gunshot wounds to his leg in a driveway on Oberlin Road, according to Acting Hamden Police Chief Timothy F. Wydra.

Wydra said officers treated the victim and applied a tourniquet. The victim was taken to the hospital for further treatment, according to Wydra.

The victim’s vehicle was stolen from the scene and later recovered by officers, Wydra said.

The Hamden Police Major Crimes Unit is actively investigating this incident, according to Wydra. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Jomo Crawford at 203-230-4000.
