VIDEO: Quinnipiac Women's Basketball Falls to Manhattan
Jaspers pull away from Bobcats in fourth quarter.

HAMDEN, CT — The Quinnipiac women’s basketball dropped a 52-42 decision to Manhattan in a conference game Sunday afternoon at the TD Bank Sports Center.
The Bobcats trailed only 36-33 heading into the fourth quarter but the Jaspers closed out the victory with a 16-9 edge in scoring in the final quarter.

It was the second conference loss for Quinnipiac (4-4).

The Bobcats lost only four games all of last season but coach Tricia Fabbri saw the entire starting five graduate and the team is relying heavily on the freshman and sophomore classes.
Freshman Edel Thornton led Quinnipiac with eight points and five steals and shot 2-of-7 from the 3-point line.
The Bobcats were only 5-of-33 from 3-point range.
Quinnipiac held a 12-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. Coach Fabbri was running a five-in, five-out offense and implementing a full-court press. Pressuring the Jasper’s offense led to three steals in the first half by freshman Brittany Martin.
Manhattan scored 23 points off Quinnipiac turnovers in picking up their second MAAC win.
The Jaspers were led by Amani Tatum, who had scored a game-high 18 points, five steals and three assists.
