‘Violent’ Bob’s Shoplifting Suspect Sought: Hamden Police
Police say the suspect fought with a loss prevention officer inside the security office and then fled the store.
HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police are asking for the public’s assistance with identifying a shoplifting suspect who is accused of fighting with and injuring a loss prevention officer during an incident at Bob’s Stores.
At about 6 p.m. on Feb. 15, Hamden Police responded to Bob’s Stores, located at 2300 Dixwell Avenue, on the report of a shoplifting involving violence, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that an individual, described as a white male, wearing a black hat and a gray-hooded sweatshirt, exited the store, while wearing a stolen pair of sneakers.

A loss prevention officer approached the individual and instructed him to proceed to the security office, Smith said.
Once inside the security office, the suspect became agitated and began to fight with the loss prevention officer, according to Smith.

Smith said the suspect subsequently fled from the store and then entered a brown Infiniti. Hamden Fire Rescue rendered medical assistance to the loss prevention officer, who injured his finger, according to Smith.
