Viral Ice Cream 'Lobster Roll' Available At Hamden Ice Cream Shop

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden ice cream shop has teamed up with local food creators to bring back a viral dessert inspired by one of New England's most iconic, savory summer staples.

Kelly's Cone Connection has partnered with food creators The Side Dishers and Wallingford chocolate shop, Donovan Family Confections, to create an ice cream "lobster roll" available through August.

The limited-time dessert features red butter-flavored ice cream with butter-pound cake chunks served in a brioche roll and topped with a butterscotch-filled chocolate lobster claw.

Customers can also add a drizzle of pourable butterscotch and an optional sprinkle of salt.

The dessert is the third installment in The Side Dishers' "Connecticut Iconic Food" collaboration series, which transforms classic Connecticut foods into ice cream concoctions.

The ice cream lobster roll is available only in August while supplies last.
