Wal-Mart Employee Attacked, Stabbed in Chest by Co-Worker and Her Husband: Hamden Police

Police said the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with the couple inside the store and was then attacked when he walked outside.

A Wal-Mart employee was stabbed in the chest while being assaulted by a co-worker and her husband as he walked out of the store early Tuesday morning, according to Hamden Police Capt. Ronald Smith.

Hamden Police responded to Yale-New Haven Hospital, Saint Raphael’s campus, in the early morning hours on Aug. 11 regarding the stabbing.

Smith said that investigation revealed that a 27-year-old New Haven resident was stabbed in the chest, as he walked out of Wal-Mart.

The victim, who is an employee at Wal-Mart, was involved in a verbal altercation with the husband of a co-worker. This occurred inside of the store. As he exited the store, the co-worker and her husband physically attacked him. He was stabbed in the chest during the assault.

The victim drove himself to the hospital.

The Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Division is conducting the investigation. Officer Nicholas Lovett conducted the initial investigation.
