Wanted Man Apprehended In Hamden After K-9 Track: Police

The man, who was wanted on several arrest warrants out of North Haven, struck a North Haven police cruiser before fleeing, police said.

HAMDEN, CT — A man who was wanted on several arrest warrants out of North Haven was apprehended Monday morning in Hamden, according to police.

Hamden police responded to the area of Sanford Street around 10:15 a.m. to help the North Haven Police Department with finding Errol Walters, 34, of Hamden, according to Sgt. Angela Vey.

Vey said Walters had struck a North Haven Police vehicle before running away from the scene on Sanford Street.

Lt. Jason Venditto and his partner, K-9 Knight, started a track and found Walters in the wooded area behind 2460 Dixwell Avenue, according to Vey. North Haven police then took Walters into custody without incident, Vey said.

Vey said Venditto was assisted by Sergeant William May, Officer Derick Manning, Officer Jenna Davis, Officer Vincent DeStefanis and Officer Brian Jackson.

No one injured during the incident, according to Vey.
