What Should Take Centerville Lumber's Place in Hamden?

The iconic Hamden business closed almost a year ago and the Whitney Avenue site is for sale.

It's been almost a year since Centerville Lumber by closing after 80 years in business. 

The recession proved to be too much for the business to weather, and it closed its doors shortly after Christmas last year. 

Today the site at 2320 Whitney Ave. stands empty with a for sale sign sitting along the street.

It's a prime business location with more than five acres of land that is priced at $3.2 million. It actually consists of four lots -- 2300, 2308, 2320 and 2330 Whitney Ave. and is a short distance from the Wilbur Cross Parkway and I-95, making it an even more appealing location.

What would you like to see go in at the site? A shopping plaza? A restaurant? An office complex? Another lumber yard?
