Woman, 72, Robbed of Credit Cards, $5: Hamden Police

The suspect told the elderly victim that he had a gun during the recent street robbery, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police are investigating a recent street robbery of an elderly woman in which her credit cards and $5 were stolen.

On Dec. 31, Hamden Police were summoned to a Putnam Avenue residence on the report of street robbery, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said the 72-year-old woman reported that she was the victim of a robbery that occurred on Dec. 30 at 4:30p.m.

The victim told police that as she exited Snaxx Plus, 75 Putnam Avenue, she was approached by an individual who demanded her belongings. The suspect told the woman that he was in the possession of a firearm and he subsequently stole her credits cards and $5, according to Smith.

Smith said the elderly victim couldn’t provide a description of the suspect to police.
