Woman Hit, Attempted To Bite ShopRite Employee: Hamden Police
The woman was trying to flee the store with about $200 worth of stolen items, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven woman is accused of hitting and attempting to bite a security officer while trying to steal $200 worth of items from ShopRite, according to police.
Hamden Police responded to ShopRite, located at 2100 Dixwell Avenue, on Feb. 12 on the report of shoplifting, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that a Loss Prevention Officer observed a woman, who was later identified as Michelle Kosko, exit the store with approximately $200 worth of stolen merchandise.

As the store employee attempted to retrieve the stolen items, Kosko is accused of hitting him and then attempting to bite him before fleeing from the area on foot, according to Smith.
Officer Ronald Glifort conducted an investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Kosko.

On April 4, New Haven Police arrested Kosko on the strength of the arrest warrant and turned her over to the custody of the Hamden Police Department, according to Smith.
Kosko, 43, of Eastern Street in New Haven, was charged with third-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny.
Kosko, who was detained on a court-ordered $10,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on April 18.
