Woman Pepper-Sprayed, Robbed Of Car At Gunpoint: Hamden Police

A woman was pepper-sprayed and robbed of her car at gunpoint by several teens Tuesday in Hamden, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A woman was pepper-sprayed and robbed of her car at gunpoint Tuesday night at the Hamden Plaza, according to police. The robbery happened around 7 p.m. at the Hamden Plaza, 2100 Dixwell Ave., in Hamden, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Police found that “three of four teenaged males” approached the woman as she tried to enter her vehicle. One of the teens, described as “young” and “thin” pointed a gun at her and demanded her car keys, according to Smith.

Smith said another teen “pepper-sprayed” the victim in her eyes, and she temporarily lost her vision. The suspects then stole her vehicle, described as a tan 2013 BMW 328i. The victim’s wallet, which contained credit cards, was also stolen, according to Smith.
